Karl Rackette
studied Physics at the University of Aachen from 1966 to 1972. He continued his studies in Lyon and Strasbourg, finally receiving the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering.
From 1975 to 1979 he passed the education as patent attorney. Since 1979 he worked as patent attorney first in a law firm and then in own practice before becoming partner in the RACKETTE Partnership in the year 1998. |

The areas of technical expertise of Mr Rackette are mechanical engineering, medical technology, semiconductor technology, information technology, energy technology and measurement technology.
The main areas of his legal practice are patent prosecution, patent opposition proceedings, patent infringement proceedings, patent nullity proceedings, trademark prosecution and trademark opposition proceedings.
Mr Rackette is intensively engaged in the education of European patent attorneys. Furthermore, he is regularly lecturing patent drafting in a number of European and East Asian countries.
Last but not least, he is member of numerous professional associations like the German Patent Attorney Association ("Patentanwaltskammer"), AIFA, AIPLA, AIPPI, AUTM, CIPA, ECTA, epi, FICPI, IBA, INTA, IPIC, IPTA, ITMA, LES, NYIPLA and others. |
